Dirt Bike Brakes
Riding a dirt bike requires a fine balance between all of the controls, including the throttle, clutch and even the brakes. Being smooth on the brakes allows you to get through corners and obstacles faster and safer. And while a lot of that comes with technique, a good bit also comes from a good set of dirt bike brakes. Quality pads, shoes, discs/rotors and calipers are needed for the smooth stopping power necessary to ride like a pro in the dirt.Spongey, noisy and shaky dirt bike brakes are sure signs of worn components, which can lead to subpar performances and even unsafe riding conditions. When you start to notice any of this, it’s time to do a brake job. This can be done by most home mechanics with a little wrenching knowledge and a shop manual. All that is needed is some hand tools and quality replacement brake parts.
Depending on the model of your dirt bike and the level of performance you crave will determine which parts to choose. A racer looking to gain an edge on the competition may choose sintered pads with oversized floating rotors to get the best grab, while a weekend warrior may choose semi-metallic pads with standard fixed rotors for the best bang for buck setup.
Whatever you choose, you will be able to find what you need at Dennis Kirk. We keep a great selection of dirt bike brake components from great brands like EBC in stock and ready to ship to you the same day that you order them. That way, you can get back out in the dirt as soon as possible. And when your order is over $89, we will ship it to you for free. Use the Ride Selector at the top of the page to find all of the brakes that fit your specific dirt bike model. Also, feel free to contact our knowledgeable Tech Team if you have any questions on what is best for your bike and the way you ride.
